The Beginning
PEIMI was born from a simple idea: everyday kitchen tools can be art. In a small coastal studio, we began experimenting with offcuts of hardwood and translucent resin, fascinated by the way liquid color could freeze the movement of the ocean inside a solid, useful object.
What started as weekend experiments quickly became a studio practice. Today, every PEIMI board still carries that same spirit — a balance of function, natural texture, and the unexpected beauty of hand-poured resin.
The Process
Each board begins with responsibly sourced acacia or walnut, selected for grain pattern and durability. We stabilize the wood, design the resin pour to follow its natural lines, and cure it for several days before sanding by hand.
The final finish is food-safe oil and wax, protecting the surface while letting the wood breathe. The result is a board that feels alive — no two pieces ever look the same.
